Learn About Our Trainers

Beth Belock, DVM
Beth received her Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Mary’s College in 2008 with a major in biology and minors in psychology and chemistry. She received her DVM degree from Michigan State University in 2012. During vet school she completed an externship with a veterinary behaviorist. She has attended the Clicker Expo, annual continuing education in canine behavior, and is a certified Puppy Start Right instructor. Beth joined Bergman’s in 2012 and started dog training and socialization classes in 2014. She is a certified Fear Free Veterinarian.

Brooke Lamb, LVT
Brooke began training through the 4-H youth program and as an AKC junior handler. She has shown in AKC and UKC show rings. Currently she is a 4-H leader and superintendent for the dog and companion animal departments. She has worked at Bergman’s for thirteen years. She is a Licensed Veterinary technician, certified AKC evaluator, and, certified Puppy Start Right instructor. Brooke helped start the dog training and socialization program at Bergman’s in 2014. She volunteers at Reins of Life: Therapeutic horse riding and enjoys training and working with her own dogs and horses.

Mary Tharp
Mary has been training and showing dogs through 4-H for ten years. She joined The Art of Pawsitivity as an assistant trainer and received her Puppy Start Right Certification in 2018. Mary is passionate about helping people understand their dogs and nurturing the human-animal bond and helped design the new agility class that will be offered in 2020.
